Interesting facts regarding Jubilees
- From its Jewish and Christian origins, the word 'Jubilee' means liberty; a year for forgiveness of sins. In the 'Book of Leviticus', a whole Jubilee year is said to occur every fifty years - the Sabbath day being the seventh day; a Sabbath year, every seven years and the Jubilee year follows seven Sabbath years.
- Queen Elizabeth II is the current second longest reigning monarch in the World (ascended 6 Feb. 1952).
- King of Thailand is currently the world's longest reigning monarch (ascended 9 June 1946).
- On 12 May 2011, the Queen becomes the second longest reigning monarch in 1200 years of British royal history. Queen Victoria was the longest reigning monarch at 63 years and 216 days.
